Wild Harvested Canadian Chaga Tea
(Organic, Third-Party Tested)

Chaga tea is a traditional, caffeine-free beverage made by slowly simmering or steeping dried birch chaga (Inonotus obliquus) in hot water below boiling. It produces a dark, earthy infusion that has been prepared for generations in northern forest regions. This product provides wild-harvested Canadian chaga prepared for traditional brewing at home.

Traditional Chaga Tea (Dried Birch Chaga)

Annanda Organic Chaga Tea is wild-harvested Canadian birch chaga (Inonotus obliquus), prepared for traditional brewing as a slow, low‑heat tea.

This dried chaga is intended for home preparation using traditional methods rooted in northern forest tea practices. For a ready‑to‑drink option, see our Chaga Tea Concentrate.

Chaga tea is traditionally prepared using dried chaga rather than tea bags or instant products.

Chaga Tea: What Is It?

Chaga tea is a traditional beverage made by steeping or simmering dried birch chaga (Inonotus obliquus) in hot water.

It has been prepared for generations across northern forests, where chaga grows naturally on birch trees.

Rooted in Boreal Forest Traditions

Wild Canadian Birch Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) — raw, unprocessed, and harvested with care from living birch trees in northern boreal forests.

Beyond its deep, earthy flavour, chaga has long been valued in northern tea traditions for its connection to birch-rich forest ecosystems.

How Chaga Tea Is Traditionally Prepared

Chaga tea has traditionally been prepared using a slow, low‑heat decoction, allowing time and gentle warmth rather than rapid boiling.

Chaga tea is most often prepared as a slow-simmered or gently steeped infusion, rather than a quick brew.

Choose Your Preferred Chaga Tea Form

Use our Chaga Grind Selector to choose the right form for your brewing ritual.

All options use the same wild chaga, prepared for traditional tea use:

  • Chaga Tea (Standard Grind) — versatile daily brew
  • Chaga Powder (Fine Grind) — quicker extractions and blending
  • Chaga Chunks — traditional whole pieces for slow simmering

Ready-to-Drink vs Dried Chaga Tea

Chaga tea can be enjoyed either by brewing dried chaga or as a prepared tea concentrate.

Dried chaga allows flexibility in strength and preparation and reflects centuries-old northern tea-making traditions.

For convenience, ready-to-drink chaga tea concentrate offers the same traditional extraction approach in a prepared format.

Marek S. (5/5)

Great local company with amazing prices

"I'm buying from Annanda Chaga because it's Canadian first of all, and also because it's the company closest to me (Montreal). I try to buy as local as possible, whenever possible, and on top of that, they offer great prices. I love that it's a family company and that they're really transparent about everything they do. I make my Chaga tea in my Instant pot but on the Low Slow cooker setting, as suggested in their info page about how to make Chaga tea. Once ready, I mix it with a little bit of maple syrup or honey, and about a tablespoon of oat milk. SO DELICIOUS!!!"

Laura L. (5/5)

Q&A

Does anyone have any experience with chaga or other mushrooms helping with tinnitus/Meniere's Disease
chaga tincture has been known to help with tinnitus :-)
I would like to add Chaga to my coffee. Should I use Chaga tea or powder? Does it lose nutrients when using boiling water, please? Thank you for your wonderful products, I love them all.
Hi, best to brew your chaga separate and add to your coffee so you get the full extraction. However, if given a choice, chaga powder or chaga fine powder would be preferred when added to your ground coffee. We already do this for you with our Chaga Mushroom Low Acid and Sumatra Coffee.
how many oz to make one cup of tea?
To make 1 6-8oz cup of tea you can use 1/2 to 1 tsp of chaga. Steep for at least 10 min.
